Bandon has been receiving a great deal of media attention because of the vast amount of rubbish that has been dumped around the town. The Tidy Towns Committee is making a major effort to address this situation by once again organizing a major community Spring Clean on Friday, 25th and Saturday, 26th April, 2008.
We hope that all the schools will actively participate like last year on Friday, 25th April and that anybody in the town who is free on Saturday, 26th April will help us out. Bags, gloves etc will be provided and the Tidy Towns Committee will arrange with the groups tidying the town to have the bags picked up after they have been filled. Please spread the word and get in touch with us on bandontidytowns@gmail.com. We need an enormous amount of help to clear up all the rubbish.
We are a very small committee and are urgently looking for new recruits. Even one outing a year would greatly help. We meet on Tuesday nights and are easy to spot around town with our florescent jackets!!
The flower beds around town all have to be weeded and the shrubs pruned, hydrangeas dead headed, summer flowers planted etc etc!! It doesn’t happen on its own so please, please help us out if you can!!!! We need more volunteers
